Intimacy
Now we move on to intimacy. Intimacy is the closeness in a relationship. The closer you are with someone, the more intimate. Simple, right? Not quite.
There are four different experiences of intimacy that build a mature sexuality and they are as follows:
Through developing these four different types of sexuality, we grow wholly and healthily as not only a person, but a child of God.
- Same Sex Friendships: When good friends of your own sex like you for who you are, then you can be yourself. You have no need to prove yourself. It also allows you to develop your own comfortable style of being v yourself as a male/female.
- Other Sex Friendships: To learn to be open and confide with one another without romantic intimacy. These relationships help to overcome a distance or discomfort with the other sex.
- Romantic Intimacy: When you fall in love your whole outlook, sometimes your whole life changes. You can unlock new potential in your personality. IT can awaken the courage to be brutally honest.
- Spiritual Intimacy: Sharing in the spiritual growth of each other. The relationship we have with God can challenge and enrich your partner's own relationship with God.
